Printing Quiz

If a printer mentions a “slug,” what they really mean is…

A. A nickname for a very slow coworker
B. An extra space outside the trim used for printing notes or instructions
C. What you might find crawling across your garden patio

Answer: B
In printing, a “slug” refers to the area outside the final trim size where designers or printers can leave notes, job info, or instructions. It doesn’t print on the final piece—it gets trimmed off before delivery.
